Why Give

Fifty years ago a group of Cleveland leaders fought to make Cleveland the site of Tennessee’s first community college. They believed in the power of higher education, that a great education leads to better jobs and careers, and better jobs build stronger families, and stronger families make for the best communities.

For 50 years Cleveland State has been that gateway. Everyone has been welcome; students going on to a four-year college or university, students from low-income families, first generation college students, students who have been out of school for years, single-parent students, your neighbors, your family.

Today Cleveland State is even more relevant. We are perfectly situated to meet society’s need for well-educated and well-trained citizens. But in a world where technology and learning environments are rapidly changing, our 50-year old campus is in great need of repair and renovation.

We have never been more focused, more optimistic, more committed and more passionate to serve our community.

But we need your help.

With modernized classrooms, classroom equipment, and an expanded infrastructure to support learning and retention, we will be able to help students realize their maximum potential.

But we need your help.

Through your gift you can…

  • Have a profound impact on a student’s life
  • Give our faculty better tools to teach with
  • Enhance the social and economic life in our community

Come and be a part of the next 50 years of Cleveland State Community College. Give to the Cleveland State Community College Capital Campaign.

Funding Progress

Cleveland State's Community First Capital Campaign will raise $2.5 million for the required 10% match to receive the State's $25 million capital commitment.
