The Capital Project:

  • Governor Haslam has included a $25M capital project in the state’s 2018-19 budget
  • Largest funding opportunity in the history of Cleveland State
  • To access these funds we must raise a 10% match of $2.5M by July, 2018
  • Project includes the first new academic building since 1974
  • New building designated for Health & Science – a 60,000 sq/ft facility
  • Six out of 10 top careers needing Associate Degrees are healthcare – RN Nursing #1
  • STEM demand is highest in history. New building will house all Science related labs
  • Project also includes complete renovation of Mary T. Barker Humanities Building
  • Classrooms enhanced for English, Social Sciences, History, Education, Criminal Justice
  • Every student seeking a CSCC degree will utilize both of these buildings
  • Project will promote a 15% enrollment growth for the college

Funding Progress

Cleveland State's Community First Capital Campaign will raise $2.5 million for the required 10% match to receive the State's $25 million capital commitment. This unprecedented opportunity will provide funds to build a new Health & Sciences building, and to renovate the Mary T. Barker Humanities building.
